The Porsche Boxster was Porsche’s first Roadster since the 550 Spyder in the 1950’s, and has become a driver’s favourite. They combine true sports car performance and look and are great cars to both own and drive. In recent years they offer truly exceptional value for money, and of course give the head-turning prestige of owning a Porsche!
This particular example is finished in gleaming silver (one of the classic Porsche colours) and comes complete with blue leather seats and blue interior finishing – a very nice touch.
In addition, this example has had its headlights professionally changed (by Porsche) to the later versions which were introduced from 2003 onwards. The later headlights have clear indicators on the bottom edge rather than the large orange sections on earlier cars – and this really does modernise the look of the car and help to further mask its age. This upgrade alone costs in excess of £1,000 and the car comes with the original Porsche invoice for this work.
The original wheels have also been replaced with GT3 split rim alloys, which are a very expensive wheel model, and they transform the overall look of the car completely from the standard option alloys fitted to Porsche Boxster’s.
The car has clearly been very well loved during its life, and comes complete with a large stack of paperwork containing virtually every invoice for everything that’s been done over the years – right down to the original sales invoice from Porsche. As far as history goes, they don’t come a lot more comprehensive than this!
This car is fitted with Porsche’s excellent 2.7 litre engine which generates an exhilarating 220bhp and 0-60mph time of just 6.4 seconds – and a top speed of 154mph! In addition to the performance, the 2,7 litre engine also returns a combined fuel consumption of 28mpg – which is a superb result for a genuine sports roadster!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in glorious silver and is in absolutely superb condition all-around. There may be couple of small stone chips to the front of the car as to be expected – but we’re being overtly picky, you have to look around for them! The car is simply stunning and the condition is genuinely excellent.
The car is fitted with 18†GT3 split rim alloys, two of which have been recently refurbished and so are immaculate. The other two are starting to show some minor aging but can easily be refurbished by separate negotiation. These wheels really do transform the look of the car, and these wheels are VERY expensive and also quite rare. There are cheaper copies of these wheels available which are single piece, but these are the real deal and are two-piece split rim with bolts.
The car is fitted with a black electric folding roof, which takes only a few seconds to raise or lower and folds away nicely into the body of the car when lowered – perfect for that hot summers afternoon! The roof is in excellent condition and order, and in addition this car has the optional extra wind deflector fitted between the seat headrests for when the roof is down.
To finish the look of this stunning car it has had the original headlights changed (by Porsche) to the later versions complete with clear indicators – no more large orange blocks ruining the clean appearance of the cars bodywork. This really does make a huge visual difference, and costs in excess of £1,000. The car comes complete with the Porsche invoice for this work.
Make no mistakes – this car looks absolute stunning. A real eye-catcher!
THE INTERIOR:
The seats are finished in dark blue leather, and are in extremely good condition. This is matches by various parts of the interior trims (see images) which are also finished in dark blue complimented with black. This colour combination works really well against the silver bodywork, and makes a refreshing change for the standard (boring?) black.
This particular car is also fitted with the CD Player option – which should be noted is NOT a standard feature of Boxster’s of this age – rather it was an optional extra, but a great feature to have for longer journey’s when you get bored of the radio!
Also worthy of note is that this car has the Air Conditioning optional extra fitted (a £1,850 option), and of course goes a long way in making the car a practical car to drive! Being such an expensive option not everyone went for it when new – but it’s hard to imagine any owner these days not considering this a major bonus point.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Service Log book.
The car was last serviced with D Patterson Garage Services (Porsche Specialist) on the 25th January 2011, so servicing will not be required for approximately another 10,000 miles or until January 2012.
