The Outlander was originally created by Mitsubishi as a car offering all the benefits of a 4x4 such as four wheel drive, high ground clearance, and ability to cope well in all weather conditions etc, coupled with a more practical car-like body size, emissions and economy. And the Outlander really does score on all points – whether simply zipping around town or taking a camping holiday abroad, the Outlander is a great all-round choice.
This excellent example is the top-end Warrior model (Intense Warrior H-Line to be precise) and so includes many available options extra’s fitted as standard – and all of the extra features really do set the car in a league of its own compared to base model Outlanders.
The Outlander offers switchable 4x4, which means that when the weather is fine you can leave the car in two wheel drive mode and save the fuel that this mode offers, but when the weather really comes in (especially the snow!) then switch it to 4x4 mode and you’re covered! This set-up offers major benefits over permanent four wheel drive cars as the fuel consumption increases considerably when driving all four wheels together, and most people will only actually need to use this feature for a few times per year.
The car is finished in silver with rear privacy glass and full black leather interior – which really does set the car off beautifully. Both of the rear seats fold down offering a massive loading area in the boot – great for big shopping sprees! In addition, this is the 7 seat version and two additional seats fold out of the boot floor – a very useful feature indeed!
This is the diesel model which has a 2.0 engine which produces 138bhp and returns 40mpg combined. Whatever the requirements of your next car, the Outlander will probably offer the solution! They are practical, comfortable, capable and very economical – making them an ideal choice!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in metallic silver - and is in excellent condition all-around. Many Outlander’s have sadly been abused off-road on farms and the like, or effectively used as work vans, but this particular car has been very well cared for and shows no signs what-so-ever of ever being driven off-road or otherwise abused in any way!
The car is fitted with the original 18†Mitsubishi alloy wheels, and the tyres are in excellent condition with plenty of tread remaining – with the front two being a pair of brand new Nexen tyres.
The boot opens in two sections. The upper section opens as a normal tailgate would, and once open the lower part (actually the centre of the rear bumper) folds down to make a flat loading entry area – an excellent design.
THE INTERIOR:
The Outlander cabin is very well designed and surprisingly spacious for a compact SUV/4x4. Everything is well-thought out and positioned for easy use for the driver. The steering wheel is the multi-function version, putting the driver in control of the stereo and phone options without taking heir hands off of the wheel.
The seats are finished in black leather, complete with the Warrior logo, and all seats are in perfect condition. There are no tears, rips or stains and are exactly as they should be. The rear seats also can be slide back and forwards – very useful for when you need a touch more boot space but don’t want to drop the rear seats.
The additional two seats (of seven) fold out of the boot floor and so take up none of the boot space when put away, and rear seat belts are located in the boot area for the rear passengers.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Mitsubishi Service Log book.
The car was fully serviced on the 20th June 2012 at Mitsubishi Swansea at 95,294 miles.
The next service is not now due for approximately 8,000 miles (the car should be serviced every 12,000 miles or every year - whichever is soonest).
