For those wanting a luxurious 4x4 with power and performance to match it’s good looks, then the Mercedes Benz ML55 AMG is an ideal choice, and now offers outstanding value for money (the price when new on this model was £54,000).
This is a true performance vehicle and is fitted with the 5.5 litre V8 AMG engine, which outputs a phenomenal 354bhp. It also has uprated brakes, suspension and wheels - amongst many other upgrades - all fitted as standard to the ML55 AMG model.
As this is the top-of-the-range Mercedes Benz M Class and the level of luxury and refinement is of the highest order. Naturally, the car features full leather seats, and this particular car is also fitted with the Command Sat Nav control system, and the front and rear parking sensors (both were optional extras and not standard kit – so not found on all ML55 AMG’s).
The ride is superb – the car runs extremely well and is surprisingly nimble for a large 4x4 model, with more than enough power. It has a very solid feel, and a lot of road presence.
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in stunning black metallic paint (actually a variation of black that Mercedes call ‘Green-black’ which has a VERY subtle green tint and allows for the metallic finish rather than the ‘flat’ non metallic obsidian black), and is in superb condition all-around.
The 18 inch AMG alloy wheels (factory fitted) are also in excellent condition. No kerbing or scuff marks – these really are in great condition and set the vehicle off very nicely. These are very big and chunky wheels and give the car great presence. All four tyres are Dunlop and have good tread remaining.
The front and rear bumpers and also side skirts are unique to the AMG model and really give the car a menacing yet stylish look, which is finished off by the excellent twin AMG exhaust.
This is the face-lifted model (The ML55 AMG underwent a facelift in 2002 and this face-lifted version ran until the end of production in 2005) and so includes the newer-style AMG front grille, indicators in the side mirrors and several cosmetic improvements.
THE INTERIOR:
As is to be expected from a top of the range Mercedes model, the interior is sheer luxury and finished to the highest standard.
The seats are finished in black and are made from Buffalo leather, and all seats are in perfect condition. There are no tears, rips or stains and are exactly as they should be. Additionally, both front seats are heated.
The rear seats fold down twice so that they are tight to the floor, making a flat and very large loading space. Additionally the rear seat is split into two parts and each section can be folded down individually to allow for maximum flexibility of loading options.
The whole interior is finished in a dark grey/black with lovely wood effect trim, and the dashboard is finished off with the unique white AMG dials. The quality of the interior is genuinely impressive and of the highest standard.
The car has electric adjustable memory seats for both driver AND passenger. Each seat memorises up to three different positions, so if you and your partner drive the same car, simply open the door, press the memory seat button (inside of the door) and it will automatically adjust the seat, steering wheel, headrests and door mirrors to your own unique settings before you even step into the car!
The car is fitted with the optional extra Mercedes Command system, which is an integrated CD player, radio, Sat Nav system (Note CD is present and correct) and telephone system. This was an expensive option at the time of original sale so not all ML55 AMG’s have this fitted, but it’s a very nice extra to have and an extremely useful tool.
The car is fitted with parking sensors for both front and rear and are 100% fully functioning and very useful when parking (it’ a big car!)
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL MERCEDES BENZ SERVICE HISTORY and come complete with the stamped Mercedes Service Log book.
