The Mercedes SLK has won the hearts and minds of driving enthusiasts the World over, and once you’ve driven one it’s so easy to appreciate why…
When Mercedes were first designing their new roadster they knew that, to succeed, the design must be Sporty, Light and Short (or Sportlich, Leicht und Kurz in German) – hence the first letter from each of these essential features became the name we now know as SLK…
But they did a lot more than simply succeed with their design criteria – they created a car which has won numerous awards world-wide, is a favourite amongst motoring enthusiasts. If you’re after a roadster then this is simply one of the best there is!
This is the top of the range SLK55 AMG model, which features a 5.5 litre V8 engine producing an exhilarating 354bhp. This will take you from standstill to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds – and when you also factor in the size and weight of the car you have an absolutely thrilling driving experience!
As the SLK is a roadster, this features a fully electrically retracting roof. But unlike many roadsters, this is actually a folding hard top (the SLK was one of the first models to ever feature the electric hardtop).
The car is finished in glorious black, giving it a true mean-machine look and feel, and has the multi-spoke official AMG alloy wheels. It’s also packed with optional extras for maximum driver comfort and convenience – making this a genuinely superb example of this wonderful super car!
We have just had the car serviced with Mercedes Benz of Worcester to maintain the full Mercedes Service History. There are also a lot of extra’s that have to be done to the SLK55 AMG around this mileage – worth bearing in mind if you are looking at a few as this is required work to maintain the Mercedes history – and is very costly (in excess of £1,500!)
In line with the Mercedes service schedule we have also had the following done, all with Mercedes Benz of Worcester:
• Full B Service (the larger of the two services)
• Spark Plugs replaced (2 per cylinder, so 16 in total)
• Gearbox Oil changed
• Brake Fluid changed
• Dust Filter changed
• Air Filter changed
• Command System latest software upgrade
• Sat Nav latest maps upgrade
All of this work is required (as per Mercedes service schedule) when SLK55’s get to this mileage and the cost of all of this work is in excess of £1,500! So we have had done all of this work done (by Mercedes Benz of Worcester), as required by Mercedes to maintain the full Mercedes Service History. We are therefore able to confidently present one of the finest and most up-to-date examples of the SLK55 AMG you will find anywhere!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in glorious black and is in absolutely superb condition all-around. There may be couple of small stone chips to the front of the car as to be expected – but we’re being overtly picky, you have to look around for them! The car is simply stunning and the condition is genuinely excellent.
The 18 inch genuine AMG alloy wheels are in excellent condition and fitted with almost-new tyres. These are the multi-spoke AMG alloys (there was a choice when new between a 5 spoke version or these multi-spoke versions), which are our favourite, and they look superb against the black bodywork.
The car also has front and rear parking sensors fitted – which can be extremely useful when parking in tight spaces.
Make no mistakes – this car looks absolute stunning. A real eye-catcher!
THE INTERIOR:
The seats are finished in black leather, and all seats are all in extremely good condition. Both seats are heated, both are electric. The driver’s seat memorises several different positions, so if you and your partner drive the same car, simply open the door, press the memory seat button and it will automatically adjust the seat to your own unique settings!
The roof is fully electric and takes around 10 seconds or so to open or close. The rear screen on these roadsters is genuine glass, rather than the cheap and nasty plastic that manufacturers have a tendency to use on folding soft-tops. So rear vision is very good.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL MERCEDES SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped BMW Service Log book.
The car has just been serviced with Mercedes-Benz of Worcester so servicing will not be required for another 12,000 miles..
In addition to the service with Mercedes Benz of Worcester, there are several extra serviceable parts that need replacement at this mileage to maintain the full Mercedes Benz service history (without these additional requirements being done no Mercedes dealership will stamp your service book – so be sure all of these have been done if you are looking at cars at this mileage, or nearing this mileage).
The work done at Mercedes Benz of Worcester cost in excess of £1,500 and includes the full B service, spark plugs being changed (16 plugs – this job alone is in the region of £500), gearbox oil change, brake fluid change, dust filter change and air filter change. In addition, Mercedes have added the latest software update to the Command system, and also added the latest maps to the Sat Nav system, as well as giving the car a full Mercedes health check.
So, with regards to servicing we have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the car is up to date. Many dealers would not have this work done by Mercedes, and would either do the work themselves, or simply not do it at all. However, we value the importance of a full and genuine full Mercedes service history, and so we’ve had all of this work done by Mercedes ready for the new owner – saving them in excess of £1,500 in potential costs.
