The Mercedes E55 AMG is the flagship of the E Class range, and is the obvious choice for those who demand high performance and luxury but without the blatant over-styling of many of today’s performance cars. If you like to enjoy all of the benefits of a performance car, but prefer a little subtlety then the E55 AMG is one of the best choices available!
Under the bonnet is the famous 5.5 litre super-charged Kompressor engine which puts out a Ferrari-threatening 469bhp and a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds. The E55 AMG really is a genuine performance car, and at current prices these offer – quite frankly – ridiculous value for money.
It should be noted, and if you’re reading this then you’ll probably already know for yourself, just how rare the E55 AMG is in its estate form. We’ve never really understood quite why it’s so rare in this form. The older (and far inferior) w210 body shape E55 AMG was comparatively common in estate form, but these newer w211 cars really are exceptionally rare.
It is worth noting that this is a 2003 car, and so one of the earliest ones available. This model continued to be produced until 2008, and so a private registration could easily be added to the car to mask its age and so could easily pass for a car costing three times as much on the used car market.
The value for money that this car provides is simply unbeatable. Try finding another car from any manufacturer that can match a used E55 AMG for 1) Performance, 2) Luxury, and 3) Price. You’ll quickly realise just how much of a bargain-buy the E55 AMG currently is.
Being a top-end Mercedes model it’s not all just about the performance, it’s also about luxury and the E55 AMG certainly does not disappoint. The cabin layout is very well designed and refined and it’s extremely comfortable and really does make you feel special. All components used are of the highest quality – and do remember that brand new this car would have cost in excess of £68,000 including the options.
The E55 AMG comes with an extremely high specification as standard, but of course there were optional extra’s to add further to the comfort and luxury of the car, and this particular E55 AMG is packed with over £5,500 of optional extra’s – including all of the ‘essentials’:

The car is finished in gleaming silver – the classic AMG colour, giving it a true mean-machine look and feel, and has the official AMG alloy wheels. It’s also packed with optional extras for maximum driver comfort and convenience – making this a genuinely superb example of this wonderful super car!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in glorious silver and is in lovely condition all-around. There may be couple of small stone chips to the front of the car as to be expected – but we’re being overtly picky, you have to look around for them! The car is simply stunning and the condition is excellent.
The 18 inch genuine AMG alloy wheels are also in excellent order. These are the twin-spoke AMG alloys (there were three wheel types available on the E55) which are our favourite, and they look superb against the silver bodywork and silver AMG brake callipers.
The car also has front and rear parking sensors fitted – which can be extremely useful when parking in tight spaces.
The car is fitted with folding wing mirrors, which are set to automatically unfold when you unlock the car using the remote central locking on the key, and automatically fold back into place when you lock the car again.
The car is fitted with Bi-Xenon headlights, and also has the full headlight washer system.
Make no mistakes – this car looks absolute stunning. A real eye-catcher!
THE INTERIOR:
The seats are finished in black leather, and all seats are all in extremely good condition. Both front seats are heated, both are electric. Both the driver and passenger have a memory function and memorise several different positions, so if you and your partner drive the same car, simply open the door, press the memory seat button and the seat will automatically adjust the seat to your own unique settings!
This particular car has the upgraded comfort seats which allow for a much greater adjustment of the seats, all operated by air, which allow adjustment of the lumber and side supports for maximum comfort! The seats are also fully ventilated and heated.
The boot loading cover actually lifts up electrically upon opening the boot, and lowers itself again upon closing the boot. In addition, the boot has a soft-close mechanism so you do not need to slam the boot, just press it down and an electric motor will take over and pull the boot securely tight for you.
This particular car has a feature that makes an already rare car exceptionally rare; it is fitted with the factory optional-extra rear child seats (with seatbelts). These fold out of the boot floor and take up NO additional room in the boot when folded away – a very clever design indeed. Absolutely ideal for when you find yourself in a situation where you could have additional passengers!
Another nice feature is the headrest drop. There is a button on the dashboard which, when pressed, makes the three rear headrests automatically drop – very useful for when you have no rear passengers as it allows maximum rear visibility.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Service Log book.
The car was last serviced with German Car Services (Mercedes Benz Specialist) so servicing will not be required for approximately another 8,500 miles.
