The famous Jaguar XJ has been their top-end model since its introduction way back in 1968, and when you look at the quality of these great cars it is easy to understand why. The Jaguar XJ is a true British motoring icon. Instantly recognised and very much respected – the word prestige was almost created especially for the Jaguar XJ!
This is the 4.2 litre Sovereign model, finished in stunning silver which perfectly compliments the shapes and curves of the body design. This particular car is the Sovereign model, so is packed with features (many not found on the lesser XJ’s).
Worth noting (although you’re already probably more than aware), this version of the Jaguar XJ was the first to have an aluminium body. This helps to reduced weight, naturally, but also has the benefit of being completely rust-free for the life of the car.
The Jaguar XJ is a superb car to drive. Very solid and holds the road extremely well. As this is the 4.2 V8 Sovereign model it has a very respectable 300bhp on tap – making it a very capable car that matches power and luxury in equal measure.
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in stunning silver and is in excellent condition all-around. The bodywork is all aluminium, so naturally there it is impossible for it to rust. Additionally, the paintwork used on the aluminium panels is a slightly different compound to those used on steel panels (it’s a more flexible paint) and the paint is extremely good at resisting stone chips. You’ve have to look VERY hard to spot a stone chip (we could not find any!)
The car is fitted with the original Jaguar 18 inch alloy wheels. The wheels are in very good condition, but do have some minor kerb marks around the very outer edges, but we can easily have the wheels reconditioned (by negotiation) if required. The tyres are all Pirelli and have very good tread remaining.
This car is also fitted with factory fitted parking sensors on both the front and the rear to aid parking.
THE INTERIOR:
As is to be expected from a top-end Jaguar model, the interior is sheer luxury and finished to the highest standard.
The seats are finished in gorgeous light grey leather, and all seats are all in extremely good condition. There are no tears, rips or stains and are exactly as they should be.
The car has electric adjustable seats for both driver AND passenger. The drivers seat memorises three different positions, so if you and your partner drive the same car, simply open the door, press the memory seat button and it will automatically adjust the seat, steering wheel, and door mirrors to your own unique settings!
The car is fitted with parking sensors for both front and rear and are 100% fully functioning and very useful when parking (it’s a big car!)
This model includes the full in-car entertainment and Sat Nav system, which is touch screen (!) and sits within the centre console and has a full colour screen. This system controls the Radio, Sat Nav, CD Player, CD Multichanger, climate control and so on. Additional controls are located on the steering wheel for ease of access/use whilst driving.
Additionally, this particular car includes the full Optional Extra telephone system. There is a telephone within the centre armrest (just insert a SIM card!), and you have controls to answer and makes calls hands free via the cars entertainment system. Also, the touch screen system also shows a keypad when you want to make a call, so you literally press the buttons on the screen that you want to dial. Extremely convenient and well conceived.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL JAGUAR SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Jaguar Service Log book.
