BMW’s 3 series is an integral part of motoring history. The first 3 series model was released way back in 1975 and turned the company around – doubling their global sales in just three years, and becoming the leading car in its class to this very day. The rest, they say, is history…
This is the 320d saloon which offers a fantastic drive with a more than capable 161bhp and loads of torque, and a fuel consumption of 58mph! No matter how you look at it – that’s a winning combination!
This particular car offers a few unique features that set it aside from your average 3 Series. First is the body colour – a lovely gun metal grey which really suits the shape and lines of the car. This is then further complimented by the privacy glass, and the 18†M Sport alloy wheels which help to transform the appearance of the car completely…
To top this off the car is also fitted with a genuine Alpina lower front bumper valance and Alpina rear boot lip spoiler, and subtle chrome trims to the grille top edges, and also bonnet corners to ‘extend’ the size of the headlights visually. There are not many 3 Series out there that look as good as this!
This has been a genuinely truly loved enthusiast’s car and a far cry from having suffered at the hands of an abusive or heavy-footed owner! Also, don’t let the mileage put you off – the car is in exceptional condition for its age and mileage and is an absolute pleasure to drive!
Being the SE model, the car has a great standard specification, and features worthy of note are the half leather seats (which initially appear all-leather due to the black on black combination), auxiliary iPod socket in the arm rest, BMW Professional Hi-Fi and CD System, and a retro-fitted Sony Ericsson Blue Tooth phone kit.
This model is fitted with BMW’s terrific 2.0 litre diesel engine, which has bags of torque and loads of pull and acceleration as well as 161bph. Couple this with a fuel economy of 58mpg and you have a cracking car!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in stunning gun metal grey and is in excellent condition all-around. There are a couple of very minor stone chips to the front of the car as to be expected – but for the mileage the car really is in exceptionally good condition.
The only minor down point (being fussy!) is the retro-fitted Alpina front valance has a good number of stone chips (being so low to the floor) which have exposed a lighter colour or primer below the grey paint. However, this can easily be professionally re-sprayed for £100 by separate negotiation if required.
The car has been fitted with 18†M Sport alloy wheels, and it’s an understatement to say that these really do completely transform the look of the car. All four wheels are in excellent condition.
Another nice finishing touch is the privacy glass and also the subtle chrome trims that top off the front grille edges, and also on the bonnet corners to transform the visual look and size of the headlights. It’s quite a subtle change, but really does make a difference.
The car also has rear parking sensors fitted – which can be extremely useful when parking in tight spaces or bad weather.
THE INTERIOR:
The seats are finished in half leather, and actually appear to be full leather at first glance due to the black on black colour combination. The seats are in excellent condition with no rips, tears or stains.
There is a retro-fitted Sony Ericsson Blue Tooth phone kit fitted in the car which is an extremely useful bit of kit, and also there is an iPod auxiliary connection in the centre armrest, as well as the BMW Professional Hi-Fi and CD system.
Another great feature is the push-button start system. The whole key slots into the dashboard and you push the clutch down, press the button once and the car fires up.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped BMW Service Log book.
The car was last serviced with N L Miller at 113,249 miles. The next service is not now due for another 18,000 miles approximately (as shown on the cars on-board service indicator).
