Here we have this excellent example of the famous Audi S3 Quattro. This is a 6-speed 1.8 Turbo Quattro which delivers 210bhp and because of the small size and weight of the car the S3’s really are fast!
The Audi S3 is extremely fun to drive, very lively and involving, and can be extremely economical as well with services only required every 20,000 miles and in excess of 30mpg (the on-board computer was showing 34.1mpg when we checked the car over at the time of writing).
Many of the Audi S3’s have unfortunately suffered abuse at the hands of affluent “boy racers†and so many are tired and beyond realistic repair. However, thankfully this is certainly not the case for this particular car…
This car came to us from a customer who has owned the car for five years and is the second owner on the car from new. The gentleman is question actually works for one of the major banks, and this was his true pride and joy…
The car has covered a reasonable high mileage (although not high for an Audi engine!) but the car has been meticulously maintained during ownership with the previous owner, including keeping the service history up to scratch…
He also has a new gearbox fitted in 2008 and we have the invoice for that, along with a folder full of five years of receipts for everything that he had done. He was a very fastidious owner and ensured that any fault was rectified immediately – as all of the history and paperwork clearly shows. We genuinely wish all car owners were as loving of their cars as this particular gentleman!
Due to the caring nature of the previous owner, we have a car which drives superbly – loads of power and great fun and is in great condition all-around!
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in THE colour to have when it comes to sporty Audi’s – their famous Nagaro Blue. The condition is excellent all around. The car is a 2001 model, so if you specifically look for faults you may find the odd minor scuff or stone chip, but overall the condition is genuinely excellent (see the photo’s – they say a thousand words). In fact the bodywork is in far better condition than most 2001’s we see, with only a couple of small stone chips to the front bonnet area being a noticeable fault (and also common due to the performance of the car).
The 17†original Audi alloy wheels are also in excellent condition. The previous owner has somewhat of an infatuation with wheel condition and would rectify any faults immediately. Therefore the wheels are in excellent condition with no notable kerb marks or scuffs.
The tyres have around 1-2mm remaining above the tread warning markers (generally set at 1.6mm) so the tyres will need replacing in the relative near future but are fine for the immediate term. They are perfectly road-legal and have passed through the new MOT. However, we would recommend that they are changed in time for winter, so please do bear that in mind.
THE INTERIOR:
As is to be expected from a Audi sports model, the interior is sheer luxury and finished to the highest standard.
The seats are Recaro and finished in stunning black leather, and all seats are in perfect condition. There are no tears, rips or stains and are exactly as they should be.
Also worth noting is that the rear seats fold down on the Audi S3 making the rear loading space surprisingly large for such a small car.
This car is also fitted with the optional Bose sound system, and also features the full on-board computer system which gives you various details on the status of the car.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY and come complete with the stamped Audi Service Log book.
The car was last serviced with Auto Technic at 107,014 miles, so the next service is not now due for approximately another 15,000 miles (service intervals are every 20,000 on these cars).
Additionally, we have just had brand new front brake discs and pads fitted to the car as the old ones were starting to wear and nearing the end of their effective life, so we have replaced them with brand new ones for the new owner.
