The Audi RS6 is a driver’s dream-car. Not only are they extremely powerful, but they are also four wheel drive (Quattro) and offer superb handling coupled with an exhilarating driving experience. But the buck does not stop with the Audi RS6 – it has a big brother…
This is the Audi RS6 Plus. Production of this very rare model was strictly limited to 999 units WORLDWIDE by Audi, of which only 70 were supplied for the UK market.
Audi have made some major modifications to their standard model RS6 to create the RS6 Plus, most notably boosting the power output from 450bhp to a Ferrari-threatening 480bhp. To allow this boost in power Audi also fitted a new cooling system including two extra water radiators on either side of the engine.
But that was not enough for Audi whilst developing this Super Car. They also optimised the available torque by allowing the engine to run over a wider rev-range than the standard RS6 – stretching from 1,950rpm through to 6,000rpm – a 400rpm increase over the standard RS6.
They also replaced the exhaust system with an advanced version that allowed the engine to breathe a little easier – and in turn to allow the twin turbo’s to spin up faster thus producing additional thrust.
Was that all? No – they also made considerations to ensure that the handling could match the increased power output and so the car was lowered an additional 10mm as standard, and also given firmed damper settings for optimum road handling.
It really is an understatement to describe this car as rare. Remember – only 70 were ever registered in the UK. So whoever owns this car knows that there are only an additional 69 in the entire UK!
As this is the RS6 Plus model it comes complete with the official plaque in front of the gear stick, showing that this car is number 339 of the 999.
This car is genuinely fully-loaded. Please see the specification list, and details below. It quite literally has EVERYTHING.
In addition, the suspension system has been changed from the factory standard DRC system to H&R coilovers. The H&R coilovers essentially replace Audi’s DRC suspension system, which can be very costly to replace should it fail. Replacing the DRC system with coilovers is one of the most popular upgrades for RS6’s, and the H&R ones are amongst the best. This work was also done by QRSport Ltd, and cost £1,200 plus fitting and VAT (invoice supplied with the car).
Also worth noting is that the previous owner has very recently had all brake discs and pads replaced by Audi. The replacement of the discs and pads can be very costly (especially on the RS6 Plus as they have upgraded drilled discs) and so this is a great plus point for the new owner.
We would also like to make a point on the mileage on this particular car. We have been lucky enough to have (to date) had 3 of the 70 RS6 Plus’ come through us, this being the third we have offered for sale. We realise that the mileage on this particular car is a touch higher than is ideal – but please note that this car is by far the best condition of the three we have been lucky enough to stock – it really is near immaculate!
Additionally, it is worth nothing that the last two RS6 Plus’ we stocked had mileages of 56,000 and 58,000 respectively – and both of these cars sold at their full retail price of £25,995. So this particular car is being offered at a full £4,000 less, which we feel more than reflects the slightly higher mileage. And do also remember that the condition of this car is the best of the three we have been privileged enough to stock, and the car drives absolutely faultlessly. We’re 100% confident that you will not find a better example anywhere!
Also worth mentioning is the sheer specification of this car. The Audi RS6 Plus is an extremely highly-specced car as standard, but this particular car has numerous additional factory-fitted options to really make this an outstanding example. Additional features include full telephone prep, upgraded steering wheel option with stereo/sat nav controls, rear window sunblinds etc. In fact, we believe that this car has every possible extra fitted (we certainly can’t think of any obvious ones that it’s lacking!)
It also has gorgeous natural leather seats which really set off the interior beautifully. It’s a real mean-looking machine!
It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to offer this superb RS6 Plus, there are not many cars out there that genuinely make you smile every time you drive them, and this car will make the new owner extremely happy for many years to come - and would be the ideal car for collectors or enthusiasts.
THE EXTERIOR:
The car is finished in glorious Mugello blue and is in outstanding condition all-around. The bodywork colour really sets off the black optic pack of the car and catches the light beautifully and shows off the lines of the car.
The car is fitted with the original Audi RS6 Plus alloy wheels, which are finished in smoked grey as standard. Note that these are the original wheels and in the original colour. They are a darker in colour than standard silver Audi RS6 alloys. The alloys have been professionally refurbished (by Porsche!) and so all four are virtually immaculate.
Also worth noting is that the RS6 Plus was fitted with a ‘Black Optic Pack’ as standard which turned the wheels, grilles, window surrounds, tailgate trim, roof rails and exhaust from the usual chrome, to black. This pack perfectly compliments the bodywork colour and is immediately identifies the car as being a Plus.
THE INTERIOR:
As is to be expected from a top of the range Audi sports model, the interior is sheer luxury and finished to the highest standard. All of the trim inside is the car is black as standard, with black natural leather seats. It has black carbon fibre dashboard trim, and even the doors handles are finished in black (rather than chrome on the standard RS6).
The seats are finished in natural leather, and all seats are in perfect condition. There are no tears, rips or stains and are exactly as they should be. The interior of the car is absolutely stunning.
The roof is fully lined in light grey Alcantara (rather than the usual dark grey) for a very luxurious look and feel. A very nice finishing touch!
The front seats are both electric. The seats are also heated – as are the rear seats!
The car has the full deluxe Sat Nav and entertainment system (including TV), and has both front and rear parking sensors. It has just about every gadget you can think of – check out the specifications list at the end – there’s simply too much to list here!
This particular car has the optional extra four spoke multi-function steering wheel complete with the electric steering column adjustment (a £485 optional upgrade when new). This is a VERY rare upgrade and there are not many RS6’s around with this option – let alone RS6 Plus’.
SERVICE HISTORY:
The car has a FULL AUDI & AUDI SPECIALIST SERVICE HISTORY from new and comes complete with the stamped Audi Service Log book.
The car was last serviced with Audi Cheshire Oaks at 78,219 miles. So no servicing will be required for 2,000 miles (as shown by the on-board computer).
If you are serious about RS6’s then you will know that it’s essential to ensure that the timing belt is changed as per Audi’s service schedule. Well, we can confirm that QRSport Ltd changed the cam belt at 58,785 miles, and the spark plugs were changed on 04/08/2009 at 78,223 miles by Audi Cheshire Oaks – and the invoice’s for this work is provided with the car.
The previous owners has also very recently replaced all brake discs and pads, and all four corners are in excellent order.
We have extensive paperwork for the car, including a huge selection of invoices for work done by Audi and Audi specialists. This really has been an exceptionally well-loved and looked after car and the history fully supports this and shows that the previous owners spared no expense on their pride and joy.
